Occupational Health & Safety Policy

SULB recognizes that one of its most important assets is its workforce. With this in mind SULB also recognizes its responsibility to safeguard and improve, where possible, the occupational health and safety of the workforce.

All relevant Occupational health and safety legislation is complied with. In addition, properly engineered facilities and equipment are provided, together with robust systems of work.

The Occupational health and safety Management System is a crucial tool in achieving our aims. OHSAS 18001 is the standard on which the H&SMS is based.

Monitoring of work place safety standards and accident records are well established procedures at the heart of the H&SMS. Also "Near miss" investigation is a key tool in improving safety standards leading to continual improvement.

Effective communication together with focused education and training are the means by which personnel will be continually developed in order to improve the occupational health and safety of themselves and their work colleagues.
